I went to see “Leatherheads” the other night with a friend. This movie focused on the beginnings of professional football in the United States. The main character was a guy by the name of “Dodge” (George Clooney) who watched these beginnings and wondered about his place in this point of change. The movie showed how the football league went from “no rules” and “fun” to “rules and no fun” as far as he was concerned. At one point he’s told “you do any funny business on the field and I’ll fine you til you have to quit.” (or something close to that) So..Dodge makes a move that he knows will take him out of the “new game”.
We all are faced with points of change in our lives. I think this movie does a neat job in showing how as the world changes around you and I, we are in a place of making choices..sometimes that involves action..and sometimes no action. Either way we live with those results.
